The route of the Brass Boat leads through the beautiful south of France – from and back to Lyon – combining music, culture, and scenic highlights along the Rhône. During the seven-day journey, you will experience concerts on board and on land as well as selected excursions.
You can find the detailed itinerary and schedule here.

For shore excursions, we recommend comfortable casual clothing and sturdy footwear.
In the evening or at the concerts, your outfit can be a bit dressier – but it doesn’t have to be. The most important thing is that you feel completely comfortable. Also, remember to bring weatherproof clothing for outdoor excursions.

In the event of a cancellation or change to your booking, the travel conditions of MS6 Travel & Music apply:

  • Up to 160 days before the start of the trip: 35% cancellation fee

  • 159 to 60 days: 60%

  • 59 to 9 days: 75%

  • 8 to 5 days: 85%

  • 4 to 1 day or no-show: 100%

A name change is possible from the booking date until the travel documents are issued for a fee of €50 per person, and €100 per person thereafter.
We recommend taking out travel cancellation insurance to be covered in case of illness or an emergency.

Arrival and departure are generally arranged individually and are not included in the travel price.
Additionally, we are planning a bus transfer from Germany to make your journey as comfortable as possible. For this, we would like to know from which cities there is the greatest interest. Simply let us know your preferred departure location when making an inquiry or booking, and we will do our best to find a suitable solution for as many participants as possible.

Music program & workshops

Can I bring my instrument?

Of course! Instruments are expressly welcome.
During the trip, workshops with the musicians will take place, where you can play together and learn from one another. In addition, the Open Brass Nights offer the perfect opportunity to join in spontaneously or simply enjoy the special atmosphere.

In addition to brass instruments, woodwind players are also warmly welcome on the Brass Boat – special guest Josef Menzl enriches the program. And just like last year, when even guitars and flutes were on board, we look forward to a wide variety of tonal colors that make the journey even more vibrant.

No, you do not need any special prior knowledge to participate in the workshops.
The sessions are designed so that music enthusiasts of all levels can take part – from hobby musicians to experienced players. It is a unique opportunity to learn directly from the professionals and stars of brass music and to play together. We try to provide sheet music in advance so that you can prepare if you wish – but you don’t have to.
